Naegleria Fowleri Disease

Naegleria Fowleri Disease is a rare and deadly brain infection caused by a water-borne amoeba. The disease often starts with fever, headache, and nausea, and can quickly progress to seizures, coma, and death. It’s most commonly found in warm freshwater lakes and rivers, but can also be found in swimming pools and heated spa tubs. As of yet, there are no vaccines or treatments available for the disease.
